Chenjie Li
CS PhD Candidate - University of Illinois Chicago
I am a PhD student in Computer Science at UIC advised by Prof. Boris Glavic, and I am a member of the UIC DBGroup. My research focuses on explainable data-driven systems, including provenance-based explanations, contextual query explanations, data repair, and programmatic weak supervision.
I am actively looking for full-time industry research, applied scientist, research engineer, and data/ML systems roles.

- Aug. 2025: Received the Outstanding Reviewer award for KDD 2025.
Education
- University of Illinois Chicago. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Expected Dec. 2026 — Advisor: Prof. Boris Glavic.
- Illinois Institute of Technology. M.S. in Data Science, 2018 - 2019.
- Guizhou University. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 2013 - 2017.
Research
My work sits at the intersection of database systems, explanations, data repair, and machine learning workflows. I build data systems that help users understand query results, improve weak labels, and make data-driven workflows more reliable.
